Matthew 2.1-23. Children & Kings (Christmas)

I have avoided teaching on this passage for years because it seemed to me to be the least Christmas friendly passage in the Bible. Apparently, Matthew wrote his account of Jesus’ early life before Christmas was invented. But it is a story worth hearing because it is the story of the origins of The King. While other Kings sacrifice those around them to maintain their power, this King comes to our world as it is, to us as we are to make a sacrifice of himself for us. [Audio]
